Running Girl Thanks Card

I made this thank you card for my trainer as our sessions have ended. I am also making one for the yoga instructor. I am training for a half marathon & both gals run marathons so I hope they like them. The runner girl stamp is a CTMH image, the thanks sentiment is PTI. I love, love the new Stampin' Up! pleated ribbon in the mini!!! Colors are Early Espresso & Blushing Bride. One the inside is one of my favorite Stampin' Up! sentiments from Occasional Quotes set. I also really like the new SU border die & matching embossing folders on the inside!! Oh.. & the brown circles with white dots are not brads - they are Candi Dots - look like a brad but no prongs... fun!

I wanted to make some get well cards and use my Our Daily Bread stamps as well. I used retired SU DSP I think this is Pool Party. I wanted a bright, cheery card. The colors are retired Green Galore, Taken with Teal, Only Orange. I inked the DSP in Taken with Teal & the middle circle in orange. I used Stickles (firefly) glitter glue and Viva Decor Pearl Pens (orange, teal dots) to accent the verse. I also used some skittles for the flower centers on the scallop borders. I didn't even realize it until the design was done.. but this card is basically the same sketch as the doily one. Time for a new sketch!

This looks bigger in the picture but it is a 3x3 card. I really did like this one! Colors in these projects are mostly Lucky Limeade, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, and Island Indigo.

Stampin' Up! Convention 2011 Make & Take Banner pieces

I finally completed my make & takes from convention. For some reason I thought they would take a lot longer than they did! Mine may look different than other demonstrators mostly because I messed up with the fabric and couldn't use it so I improvised. There are banner pieces from the Banner XL die and a pinwheel with centers from the doilies on the die. These use the It's Your Day & Raining Flowers stamp sets - those are used on all of these make & takes.

Sandy's Gathered Snow Flake

My friend Sandy designed these lace snowflakes for us for our Christmas project. You take a thin jewelry wire and weave it in & out of the inside of the lace. Then gather it together tightly, bend the wire in a circle and tie it off. Hot glue the ends together, then spray with several coats of glitter spray - that has a stiffner in it also. These are white, just the snowflakes, I put it on blue paper so you could see it better. It does not have a blue tinge it is just a reflection from the paper. Awesome project, Sandy!

Hot Cocoa/Russian Tea Gift Bags

I made up the Russian Tea & Hot Cocoa gift bags for all of my kids teachers this year. Each bag has a container of each one, along with the recipe (created with My Digital Studio). I used the Top Note Die again and the retired SU set Yummy for the sentiment along with some misc ribbon and clear bags.

I think you can guess my daughter's theme colors by now. The wall vinyl was all cut with a Big Shot Bigz die. The flowers on the goodie bags are the Stampin' Up! Fun Folds die. After the party I let the girls take the vinyl flowers off the wall and take them home for their rooms if they wanted to. The desk was filled with snacks, etc after the party started. :)

Sorry I haven't posted anything recently. I have been busy and have several things to show you but I haven't had a chance to upload them yet. Sooon!!! :) I have been busy reorganizing my craft room again, putting together shelves, celebrating the holidays, and training for a half marathon. I should be able to update some things soon. I may even do a new video of my craft room.. we shall see. I finally finished my make-n-takes from Stampin' Up! convention (in July!).

Birthday party invite for my DD

My daughter wanted hot pink and black fancy birthday card invites this year so this is what I came up with. I used Spellbinders Fleur de Lis rectangles, which are a bit of a pain to get to cut out right I must say! But, it was the look we were going for so we made them work. We used a Sizzix birthday set for the small embssed "Celebrate". Sorry I can't remember now which brand the stars background was.

When my DD found out a very dear friend was moving away she wanted to make a card for her. She wanted bright color to cheer her up so she chose Dusty Durango and Green Galore. She made the girl on my Imagine machine to resemble her friend. She chose a swirls embossing folder for the background.

Proud of you for lettering

I am so very proud of my wonderful niece for earning an academic letter. I designed this card just for her. The letter is from the Varsity Letter Cricut cartridge. I placed the layers together then embossed them with the Square Lattice embossing folder (item#119976 $7.95 p.218 IB&C). I embossed the gray background with a Congrats embossing folder and topped the card off by inking the sentiment on the congrats background that I wanted to highlight. I finished it with coordinating Real Red dotted ribbon I got off the clearance rack (be sure to check that often!) and a sentiment cut with Spellbinders dies. A little bit of glitz with the glitter brads.

Acrylic Butterfly

I was inspired by the card designed by Krista Tracy on p.78 of the September, 2011 Cards magazine. I loved the colors and CAS design of her card. I used Baja Breeze, Basic Black, and Whisper White. I have saved a lot of the acrylic packaging from Cricut carts, embossing folders, etc so I have tons to use up. After several attempts I finally found the perfect Big Shot sandwich for embssing acrylic in a folder. Use the Multipurpose platform with NO tabs, clear cutting pad, embossing folder with acrylic in it, and clear cutting pad. It is perfect. I used the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die (p.222 IB&C $21.95 item#114507). I think at one point I cut 6 or 7 at a time.. less cranking! I embossed the Baja Breeze with the Perfect Polka Dots folder (p.219 IB&C $7.95 item# 117335). I then embossed the butterflies after I cut them out in te Elegant Lines embossing folder (p.219 $7.95 item# 119277).

I bet you all thought I haven't been making anything since I hadn't posted for so long this month. However, I have just been busy creating and getting ready for my workshop. I just realized I still have at least 2 more projects done I need to take pictures of and upload yet as well!!

I made up a bunch of these for my workshop hostesses and also for friends and family. I used the Top Note die. I just trimmed the white layer with a scissor just inside the dotted line, it is really easy to do! I also printed out the recipes using Stampin' Up My Digital Studio and added some stamps on them that coordinate with the theme colors. :)

Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit cards

I used one package of the Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin' Kit (item# 124007 p.26 of the 2011 Holiday Mini $21.95) plus 20 pieces of Whisper White card stock (item# 100730 40 sheets $8.50) to make 40 Christmas cards.. and I still have enough supplies to make at least 10 if not 20 more cards! I typically made 2 of each design of the cards. Some of the cards I made with slight variations to give you an idea of how slight adjustments or accessories change the look of the card. I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes (item# 115370 $36.95 p.157 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog - wood mount only) Merry Christmas stamp on all of these cards.

In this first set of stockings cards I used the Stocking Builder Punch (Holiday Mini p.34 $16.95 item# 124095 - also has a matching stamp set). I used white liquid applique on the white pieces of the stocking. The border punch is the Scallop Trim Border (p.210-211 IB&C 30 $15.95 item# 118402). I used the new Dazzling Details glitter glue (p.41 item# 124117 $2.50 Holiay Mini) on the circles and on many more cards.

In the Christmas Tree card below I used the Stocking Accents Originals Die (Holday mini p.24 item#124099 $17.95). I drew the red circles on the trees with my Cherry Cobbler marker, topped the trees with a rhinestone as a star. I colored in the tree stump with Early Espresso marker. I framed the card with the Cherry Cobbler 3/8" quilted satin ribbon (p.30 Holiday Mini item#124105 $7.95 10 yds).

On the next card I used the Ornament Punch (p.210 IB&C #12 119847 $16.95), 1/8" Real Red tafetta ribbon (p.195 IB&C #119251 $5.95 10 yds), and more glitter glue.

On the next set of cards I used the Ticket Corner punch (p.212 IB&C itetm# 119867 $6.95 #34). I also used white bake's twine (Summer Mini p.10item# 124262 $2.95 25 yds). I used a lot of Stampin dimesionals throughout these cards (here to raise the ornament with the sentiment).

On the next set I embossed with the Northern Flurry embossing folder (p.219 IB&C 120902 $7.95). I also used a glitter brad, more quilted ribbon, and glitter glue. You can see how my camera makes this look like two different colors, but the top picture is more true color, taken in the sunshine. :)

OK.. this post is taking forever to load, so I am going to shorten up the descrptions a bit. If you need more details please email me. The next card uses the snowflake punch (cut 2 & layered), large circle punch, scalloped oval punch, large oval punch, mica flakes, and glitter glue.

On the next card I used the scallop edge punch, dots embossing folder, glitter glue, bakers twine, and the light stickers from the kit. I put dimensionals on the back of the stickers, left the tabs on the back of the dimensionals and put baby powder on the back of the stickers to make them non-sticky!

This card is just stickers from the kit and some glitter glue added on top. It was so simple, yet one of my personal favorites!

This card I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, ruffled ribbon, and large scalloped circle punch.

The next card is all stickers from the kit, except the ribbon & gem!! I hand wrote Merry Christmas on the tag.

This cards below I used the Eyelet Border punch, scalloped circle punch, ruffled ribbon, glitter glue and my essential white gel pen!

I used the stocking punch. the sticker in the middle is a sticker in the kit, quiltedsatin ribbon, and the scallop trim border punch.

The wreath is a sticker I mounted on a circle from the large circle punch, scallop trim border punch again.

This is another simple card I used the Simply Scored to score the lines, the circles on the corners are stickers, the big snowflake is a sticker in the kit that I added glitter glue and gems to.

This is ornament punch and border stickers from the kit. The sentiment punched with the large oval.

This card I made the tree from the Pennant die!The lights I added are border stickers trimmed and added glitter glue to, the small star punch added glitter glue, pearls on the tree too.

I used the scallop border punch, stockings sticker from the kit, baker's twine, new Snow Burst Embossing folder (Holiday mini). and of course more glitter glue!

The center of this card is the Designer Series Paper in the kit, the scallop border is matching border stickers, Lace Ribbon Border punch in the center, the circle lights is a stickr in the kit, the doily I put it on is from the Pennant die, red border sticker, glitter glue.. and voila! :)

This is another simple card and another of my favs! The candy canes are stickers from the kit I put on a salloped circle I embellished with white gel dots I popped the whole piece up with Dimensionals, the striped circles are stickers from the kit I adde glitter glue to. I purposely made these 2 cards differently.. notice the striped embossing folderon the brown card stock on the right how it adds so much texture and keeps with the stripe theme of the card.

I guess I had lots of favs with this bunch because I really like this one, too! I used the Petite Pennants Builder punch to make the banner, then added the tiny tree stickers from the kit, popped the pennants up & tied with bakers twine.. add some ribbon & the scalloped oval/large oval punch... done!

Matchbox Miniatures Treat Boxes

The Stampin' Up! Matchbox die is by far my favorite Bigz XL die. It is so much easier and quicker to make than even using the Cricut to cut them as the die puts the score lines and perforations right on the paper for you. The Bigz XL dies do not fit in a Cuttlebug, only in a Big Shot or Big Shot Pro machine. If you don't have a Big Shot yet this would be a great time to join Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator and get one for free..until Oct 31 only. If you already have a Big Shot you can choose up to $100 of extra merchandise & get the die for free!

I used a lot of various papers on these some are Stampin' Up! retired some are misc. from my stash. I used a lot of retired Crushed Curry Polka dot ribbon and card stock great fall color! I think I made about 25 of these - one set I forgot to take a picture of!! oops! sorry! We are giving these to soccer coaches, teachers, friends, etc.

The "thank you" sentiment stamp is from the Just Believe (11648 $33.95 wood mount, 120453 $25.95 clear mount - p.109), the sentiment is stamped on the retired Designer Label punch that was just on the clearance rack (make sure you check that often!) which is layered on the Decorative Label punch (120907 $16.95 p.209). I also used some More Mustard retired ribbon.

You can fit 4 miniature size candy bars in each box.

Personalized Earrings Organizer

My daughter recently got her ears pierced and can now change out her earrings so she has been asking for an organizer. I found this plastic bead storage containter at WM for $5. I have a bunch of vinyl from when Lowe's clearanced out their vinyl, so this is what I came up with. You can cut vinyl on your Cricut if you have one, too. I used my SU Big Shot Dies for this project. I used the Alphabet Simple Letters (115960 $89.95 p.223), Serif Essentials Alphabet (113464 $149.95 p.223), an the retired Baskets and Blooms die for the flowers.. added a bit of bling & voila!! My daughter thought it was great (priceless!). These dies are great items to get if you quaify for a 1/2 price hostess gift or bonus $100 demo sign on for October.

Batty for You Cellophane Treat Bags

I made these for my husband to take to his team at work. The stamp is from Batty for You (116576 $23.95 wood mount only p.26). I love this set for Halloween treats and use it every year so far. It is great for kids school treats, too! I also used the new Cellophane Bags from the Holiday Mini (124134 $2.50 for 50 bags p.11). I have use these before and am sooo glad SU now sells them! The treats inside are the new M&Ms candy corn - candy corn inside white chocolate coating...yummmy... but REALLY sweet!! I used various colors and papers that I had scraps of and a few misc as well mostly colors of either Pumpkin Pie or some Only Orange as well, black and white. I used the uniball Singo white Gel Pen (105021 $3.95 p.203). I use this white pen all the time. I also used a black marker for the dots on the orange 2 3/8 Scallop Circle Punch (118875 $16.95 p.210). The black cardstock is punched using the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch (119854 $16.95 p.210). The image is layered on the white card stock with the 1 3/8 Circle Punch (119860 $15.95 p.212). The ribbon is old from my stash! :)

Ship/Male Card (3rd one from Jeri's)

I really thought this was a great male card!! We used the Square Lattice embossing folder (119976 $7.95 p.218) ... one of my all time must haves also!! The colors are glossy white (used a sponge to wipe ink in coordinating colors on this), baja breeze, and basic gray. The stamp set was from the Summer Mini (nla) The Open Sea.

This is the 2nd of 3 cards we made at Jeri's. This one uses the Thank You Kindly stamp set (111700 $13.96 p.168 set of 4), Petals-A-Plenty (116824 $7.95 p.219) embossing folder, Simply Scored Scoring Tool (Holiday Mini catalog p.7 - 122334 $29.95) for the embossed lines on the card (ok.. mine ended up debossed..but hey..it still worked --oops!). I have all the other scoring tools & I really think this one is the best of them all. The tool with the ball tip glides sooo smoothly & doesn't rip your thinner designer paper. I believe the colors here are Early Espresso, Rich Razzleberry, More Mustard, and Old Olive (not 100% sure on that one). The circle on the right side is actually half EE & half RR but doesn't show up well in the picture. The trim on the inside of the card is the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (119275 $15.95 p.211).

Halloween Card from Jeri's National Card Making Day

We made this card at Jeri's house (my upline) on National Card Making Day. Thanks, Jeri!! The witch is from the Wicket Cool stamp set on p.24 of the Idea Book (118738 $19.95 wood, 120600 $14.95 clear mount set of 7). Scallop oval punch p.210 (119856 $16.96), Large Oval Punch (119855 $15.95) p. 212. These two punches are some of the ones I use the most!! We also used the Spider Web embossing folder (120889 $7.95 p.218). The colors are black and I believe Concord Crush. I think they are soo cute!

Thinking of You Vintage

For this card I wanted to try to make a card with a bit more of a vintage feel. This is not my typical style but I wanted to try somethng different. Let me know what you think. The paper colors are SU Chocolate Chip, Kraft, and Pear Pizzaz. The image & sentiment are stamped with Early Espresso and the edges inked & the embossing highlighted in Chocolate Chip. I distrssed all of the edges except the card base. The embossing folder is Vintage Wallpaper (one of the must haves in my opinion). The "ribbon" is Pear Pizzaz seam binding. I made the gathers using the technique where you pull a thread on one end & gather the binding by pushing it down the single thread. I also used some bling with the Basic Rhinestones. The corner brads are some retired chocolate chip ones.. you could substitute many other ones for this. I also used the new Dazzling Details SU glitter glue that is in the holiday mini on the pear & the kraft accent around the sentiment. I am so excited SU has this it is just like the Dazzling Diamonds glitter!! There is also some retired chocolate chip felt ribbon under the seam binding. I'm not sure why the cardstock looks a bit lighter than the seam binding in the picture...in real life they look the same.

I made this for a friend of mine who just started her own business. I visited first to check out the colors they used and I came pretty close. This is Rich Razzleberry & Mellow Moss (retired). I used the Cricut Country Life cartridge to cut the banners. Flowers were from my stash.

For this layout I used Stampin' Up! Brilliant Blue (retired) & Real Red. I also used the Elegant Edges Cricut cart for all of the mats. I must say I love, love this cartridge! All of the little circles I added are from the centers that were left on my cutting mat. A few chipboard accents that I have had for many, many years finally put to use. I learned a few things with my photo editing on Photo Bucket, too!

Pre-School Layout

On this layout I wanted to use the photo mat the photographer gave us with the pictres as it sat on my son's dresser for a long time. Colors are Stampin' Up! Brillint Blue (retired) & Going Gray. I used a MS border punch & some MME journaling spots, SU Brilliant Blue 1/4" ribbon, inked all the edges in Brilliant Blue, the lettering is SU Varsity Letter Alphabet letters cut stamped in Brilliant Blue ink on the gray paper.

Wedding Reception Invites

After the bridal shower invites were done we needed invites for the wedding reception. I think there were about 75 of both invites made = 150 total in just a couple of weeks. This is melon mambo, night of navy, and silver vellum from a big box store, Stampin' Up! punch for the flowers & some bling from the LSS, the embossed cake is a Sizzix folder and the "Together Forever" was stamped in night of navy craft ink & heat embossed with clear embossing powder, Stampin' Up! border punch, stickles on the hearts for a little more bling.

Bridal Shower Invite

A friend asked me to help them with Bridal Shower invites they needed in a short period of time. The bride picked the colors (melon mambo, whisper white, and black ink on the edges). We used stamps from SU & Spellbinders labels set to frame the dress along with some bling & 1/4" black SU grossgrain ribbon.

Magnetic gift card box

This is one of those brown magnetic boxes Stampin' Up! had on the clearance rack awhile back. It works great for a gift card inside. I decorated it using the SU penants die (it has 2 doilies on it!), some primas, thinkers, and bling. If you happened to get some of these on my garage sale this summer now you have an idea for it.

Imagine Friends Card

Here is the birthday card that went with the pail from yesterday. This is the first card I made with my Cricut Imagine machine. We changed the colors of the girls hair to look like my daughter & her friend. You will see we even put their names on them, added some glitter, pearls, etc. The card base is a Spellbinders Grand die folded in half. Both of these were projects my 11 year old DD & I worked on together....priceless! The blue colored cardstock was embossed. I believe we used the new SU In Color Pool Party.

Crayon Wreath with Cricut & Stampin' Up!

I made crayon wreaths for my kids' teachers in May. I used Stampin' Up! 1 1/4" ribbon as the holder. These are made using embroidery hoops one larger one & a smaller one inside. I spray painted the hoops with some chocolate spray paint we had on hand. The next step is to attach the crayons with hot glue (lay them out all around the hoop before you attach them). Then I attached the Cricut die cuts with dimensionals. I used several Cricut Carts, especially Locker Talk. Lots of pictures so you can see the added details to the die cuts like glitter glue and liquid pearls, embossing, etc. One of their teacher really likes owls so I substituted the starts for the SU owl punch on hers. Both teachers really liked these. The font was Hello Kitty.

Starting in late August or early September I am considering offering some classes. These would be mostly Stampin' Up! classes in card making, scrapbooking, etc. Classes may include other non-SU items as well. I am still in the planning stages and would appreciate it if you may be interested to email me and/or post here and let me know what types of classes you may be interested in - cards, scrapbooking, techniques, 3D, etc. If there is enough interest I may also offer them online and you would just pay the shipping to you. I could perhaps do video tutorials and/or printed directions with pictures if you are not local.

All classes I do hold will be offered at a 50% discount if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in my downline.

I also would like to start holding workshops, so if you are intersted in holding a workshop through me let me know. You may also get class discounts if you hostess a workshop. Workshops can be local or a book party if you are not local.

Mother's Day 2011

I made these for Mother's Day this year. They are flower pot cards. I followed the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers for them. You can find that here:

I used the Stampin' Up! scallop dot border punch for the edge of the flower pot. All cardstock is Stampin' Up!. I used my Cricut for the flowers and leaves (sorry, it has been so long i can't remember which cartridge). The colors of the flowers are Night of Navy, So Safron, & Coral. The flower pot itself is a retired color. I inked the edges of the pot in soft suede.

hmmm...ok.. I have more pictures & close-up of this, but for some reason when I upload the files from photobucket they get all stretched out like... strange. I will try to figure it out & add them.

Back from Stampin' Up! Convention 2011

I am back from Stampin' Up! Conventin 2011 and thought it was high time I update my blog!! The last few months have been crazy busy in my life with lots of changes and I am ready to get back into creatig and posting again. I had such a fabulous time at convention I am very inspired and ready to go. I met some great people (miss ya already, Becky!) and got lots of FREE stuff! woo hoo!! ..... ah... too bad the airline however mistagged my luggage & all of it is likely in Houston, TX OMG!!! I hopefully will hear back from the airline today saying they have it and it is on the way to me!!

I sent this card to my DSS in April, so it will be June before this is posted, but I thought the other post was getting a bit long!!

I made this on a day in April when we had a winter storm warning.. and I wanted Spring AGAIN!! so.. bright, cheery in order -- pink passion, green galore,so saffron, and very vanilla. I found this punch at the discount store for $4.99 for the hummingbird and couldn't pass it up! Each color is sprayed with a coordinating Glimmer Mist so they have a nice sheen. I used Viva Decor pens on the flowers for the embossed touch. No more winter...please!!!

Egg Themed Poster For Work

We had a contest at work to make an egg themed poster. I volunteered to make my team's. This is what I came up with. I used several different carts for this mostly the Easter 2010. The clouds I painted on with a paint dabber using a Spellbinders negative cut as my stencil. MS butterfly punch & SU bird punch also.
Each egg is embossed and labeled with one of our team members names. The rabbit is from Winter Woodland. The basket I think is Doodlecharms.

The poster is 22x28 but doesn't really look it in the picture I guess.

Par-Fect Day

The colors are either Handsome Hunter of Forest Foliage (not sure which it was unlabeled in my stash, Crumb Cake, and White. Hunter ribbon and hemp twine, edges are all distressed. Daisy Scalloped Circle Punch Card

I saw these flowers on a card someone had on ebay. Sorry.. I can't link to ebay. The colors are Crushed Curry, Black, White, and Garden Green. I used the SU Scalloped punch, 5/8" circle (cut in half), and the leaf stem die. The grass is MS fringe scissor. I also sprayed the white background with a blue glimmer mist and inked the edges blue. I also inked the flower edges in Soft Suede, flowers embossed with dots folder.

Barely Banana Baby

I am trying to get a large variety of cards made up using up some retired paper. This card uses Barely Banana and Whisper White cardstock. The inks used are Barely Banana & Apricot Appeal. The sentiment is punched using Stampin' Up! Modern Label and Decorative Label Punches. The onesie stamp is from the A Slice of Life level 1 hostesss stamp set. The Welcome Baby is from the Something to Celebrate Level 2 hostess stamp set. Both are hostess sets frm the current Spring Occasions Mini Catalog. I also used the Dots embossing folder and scallop trim border punch. I used a whole roll of the thin ribbone (awesome find from a dollar store!) and ran out so used Very Vannilla seam binding on the rest of them.

Embossed Lattice Baby Blanket Card

I have had this idea in my head for awhile. It is a bit detailed so I decided to make a video to show you how to do this one. I used Pale Plum (retired), Pretty in Pink, and Very Vanilla Cardstock. I made my own patterned paper on the very vanilla and embossed it with the square lattice. All the details, sizes, etc in the video.

Birthday & Birthday Bliss cards

Pink Passion was the card stock on my agenda to use up for these cards. Pink Passion is the base color embossed with the Framed Tulips SU embossing folder. I then fit a piece of Whisper White in the frame and embossed it with Swiss Dots (I tried a few & this was the one I liked the best for the white inside). The flourish, butterfly, and Bliss stamp are all from the SU Bliss stamp set. The sentment "Birthday Bliss" is from the Birthday Bliss stamp set. The layered color is Bermuda Bay. The ribbon is misc from a craft store. I also used the SU Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch to frame around the ribbon. Various oval punches for the sentiment layers.

Create-A-Critter cards - Hippo & Frog

I think I made 36 hippo cards and 24 frog cards!! They were a lot of fun. I also made another Create-A-Critter card but you are going to have to wait to see that one until I can post the cards I sent to my DSS -- on May 1 -sorry!

The hippo and frog were both cut at 2.5 inches.

Hippo card details -- I used Brilliant Blue cardstock, Crushed Curry (yellow frame) & ribbon, and black for the mat. The black is embossed with a dots folder, the hippo is made from SU Brilliant Blue DSP - I cut one to look more girlish and another set to look more boyish (the one with no flower on the rump!).. added some googly eyes & pop-dotted him/her up. The stamp sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.

Frog card -- Glorious Green cardstock base, Summer Sun is the yellow embossed w/ TH Rays embossing folder, MS ribbon punched on the edges of the yellow & black base. I emossed the frog with one of the folders from the Animal Prints CB set, cut a smooth yellow tummy for him and inked the edges in green. The sentiment stamp is SU Unfrogettable cut with 1 3/8" circle punch layered on Glorious Green scalloped circle punch. Ribbon is misc (used up another whole role + -- yay!)

Embossed Impressions -Springtime Blossoms

I just realized it has been quite awhile since I made any posts. I have been super busy creating probably around 150-200 cards! I have a bunch of loose sheets of card stock that I wanted to use up so I made a lot of the same cards to give as gifts or maybe try to sell a few.

Back to the card... :) I made around 60 of these. The branch is the Spring Blossom SU set from the Spring mini. I stamped the image on Very Vanilla cardstock in Chocolate Chip, then colored the image in with Mellow Moss and Pretty in Pink markers. I then embossed the whole image with the lattice SU embossing folder. The base cardstock is Mellow Moss and Chocolate Chip. I inked the edges of the vanilla cardstock with chocolate chip ink. I was able to vary the sentiments since this is such a universal card image and design. On some I used Chocolate Chip ribbon and on others Mellow Moss (used up a whole roll of that!!) The inside I decorated with various punched flowers.

Classic Convertibles

DH's B-Day is coming up & I am pretty sure he would rather have a convertible than a mini van (ok, so would I, but not practical! LOL!) .. I had this idea in my head for awhile. I started with a black a2 size card base. I found some light blue pattern paper in my stash, some green (I think this is from the retired SU Manchester DSP). I used nesties for the clouds and the sun. The sun has Happy Birthday stamped in just a slightly darker color - I wanted it to blend in more than stand out. I tore my green paper, inked up all the edges, then distressed the edges. I used a white ink pen on the black paper to create the road. I was really pleased with how this turned out. Let me know what you think. I also added Crystal Effects to the windshield (which doesn't show well), and glitter pen to the chrome areas on the car to make them shiny!

Star Wars Parade Layouts

I decided that I need to get some more LO's done. I also decided that I can not make every LO a psuedo masterpiece or I am never going to get caught up with about 7 years of backlog (just of the kids). So, I use the CTMH Cherish layout book for most of these LO's. I also used a SU Simply Scrappin Kit called Primary Colors that way I could keep out just a few certain colors of embellishments. I had a set of Star Wars rub-ons that really helped a lot, and a couple of pieces of Star Wars orange paper as well. My favorite embellishment though is my own light sabers. I used the SU word window punch - punched out a piece in black and cut it in half, cut out another piece in one of the saber colors, then I hand trimmed the colored part at an angle to make it look like a saber. My 7 year old DS thought they were pretty cool! I pop-dotted one of each color so it gives more of a fighting effect.

As I was uploading these I noticed the color really bloomed out for some reason..strange I wasn't using a flash either. You can see the true color best in the close-up of the blue light sabers. Sorry I don't have time to re-do pics. :(

House Mouse Lilacs

I made this about a week ago just no chance to post it. I wanted to do some more coloring with my Copics. I also used Crystal Effects on the jar, put a little ribbon on the flower, and added flower soft to give it some dimension. The cardstock colors are Wild Wasabi and Pefect Plum.

Sunny Day Cards

OK.. more tired of winter cards! LOL! I have been wanting to use this Sunny Day DSP for quite awhile and thought it would be a good one to inspire me for spring colors! I paired it with Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, and Pear Pizzaz. The butterflies are a MS punch. I can' remember what stamp set that saying was from but it was not SU. If you want me to look it up for you leave a comment. have included a few versions of the card. The first one is the final version I made several of. I like the contrast of the green more than the orange, I guess.

More Cards from Jeri's Workshop

We made 3 fabulous cards at Jeri's house last weekend. She is a great upline! The first one I thought was so pretty! I would have never thought to use Concord Crush with the light blue! We crimped it, embossed the top white portion & butterflies in the Manhatten Rose embossing folder, then used chalks to color over the embossed portion on the rose on the white folder. We used the SU Bigz butterfly die for the butterflies. The second card we used a template she printed out for us, traced it on DSP & cut it out. I chose to stamp an image on my apron pocket. Isn't this adorable??!! The last card is all using SAB rewards products - the flowers cut from the paper pack, the ribbon from the ribbon bundle, etc.. We placed them all down then embossed the whole piece for an inlaid look. It turned out bright & so fun!

Sending Love Valentines

These Valentines I made with the SU Sending Love DSP, riding hood red & pink pirouette card stock. I used a MS lattie heart punch for the biggest heart and I think the smaller center heart is the middle of her new magnetic one. Pretty in Pink 1/4" grossgrain ribbon.

Secret Sister Cards

I am a Secret Sister on SCS. I am going to describe and list my cards I send my Lil Sis as I make them, then post them all when the swap is over.

The first card I made her was a Valentines Day Card. I have 2 similar variations of this card so I am going to post them both here as one would give the other away I think. These used the Sending Love DSP from SU, Very Vanilla, and Pink Pirouette..lots of inking and border punching!!

The next card is made from Sunny Day DSP (leftovers I couldn't waste!), Poppy Parade, and Peach Parfait card stock. I really liked how this one turned out!

The purple & very vanilla card uses the Pretty Pattern SU background stamp, Punch Pals set for the sentiment, lots of distressing & ribbon. I sent her the For You card, but figured the Thank You was close enough design I better not post it. LOL!

Sending Springtime Wishes - Navy/Pink card. This is my DSS favorite color combo so I thought I would try it.. I love it!! SU Springtime Blossoms st, Night of Navy and Pink Pirouette cardstock. The pink is embossed with the newest SU embossing folder - tulip frame, then I did some pink liquid pearls all on the tulips, labels die cut, night of navy satin ribbon, and a few pearls -- voila! I made about a dozen of these to send to family.

Hang in There -- kite card. The March challenge was to make a spring card had to have something fuzzy (ie: lamb, duck) or springtime ish - kite, etc. So, I used the kite from Create-A-Critte (see my 3/17/11 post). I used a labels die for th cloud & embossed with the TH swirl folder. The DSP is from a DCWV stack. The base colors are Perfect Plum and Pale Plum. The blue is retired Brocade Blue.

Emboss Resist Sympathy Card

I have been wanting to try the emboss resist technique, so here it is. I made 4 cards like this each on turns out differently with the shading. Turns out I liked the first one I did the best. Colors are Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla. Inking uses the same plus Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzaz, and Peach Parfait.

My kids have been busy making Valentines and asked me to post them on my blog. I am posting his first, then Cassie's. It took me awhile to figure out that the grey pieces on the side were fence posts and he drew the fence lines between them (his Grandpa raises buffalo). I helped cut out the Nestie heart and a few other minor things, but these are basically his own creations. They love the skittles bling!

Love Ya Bunches Valentine

There are a few first for me with this card. This is my first easel card 5 1/4" square. Also, my first real attempt with flower soft.. learned a lot and won't do such a big area next time or on duplicate cards! Also, my first attempt at desiging a banner. OK.. so .. where to start lots of stuff on this one.

The colors I used are Early Espresso, Rose Red, Old Olive, and Pretty in Pink. The DSP is retired SU Sending Love Specialty. The heart banner is made from a combination of various SU heart punches. I glued the layers on and embossed them all together with the Love Language folder. The ribbon is SU 1/4" Pretty in Pink (perfect size for banners) and I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes in the hearts to weave the ribbon through. The fence is the MS Halloween punch & cut off the bats (they didn't fit my theme for some reason - LOL!). I used MS grass punch for the grass under the fence and added some Flower Soft for dimension - I mixed Christmas Green and the medium tone green to get closer to the color I wanted. The flower stems are from the SU bird punch. The crocheted flowers I puchased (not my forte!) on SCS, then added the chocolate chip SU brads to the middle, put the stems in & out of the fence. The hearts on the bottom stand (inside) of card are a mix of MS punch & SU, then I hand wrote the I (heart) U on them with a white gel pen. I think that about does it. Lots of pics for this one. :)

One In a Melon - Non-Traditional Valentine colors

I spent quite awhile making this card for my DS. I am going to give him this for Valentine's Day as he doesn't like the pinks/reds so much. The card is 5 1/4" square, Night of Navy bordering on So Saffron embossed with a 5x7 older & inked over the embossed area in cocolate chip. I wanted the sentiment to look like an award type ribbon. I used my copics again still trying to get that rigt, but I really do like how they give a nice even coloring. I also used Spellbinders, blue bling, night of navy ribbon & ink. The sentiment stamp is one from The Pink Stamper sets. Oh.. and of course the cutey pie image stamp from Sarah Kay.

Owl Valentines

I made 5 of these today. I initially made it for my DD teacher who loves owls. I was pleased with how it turned up. A2 white card base, inked the edges to cover most of the white. K&C red paper from last years pack I got on clearance. Pink Pirouette card stock, white lace paper doily from a dollar store. I used scalloped and regular nesties hearts. Then the SU owl punch and heart brad. The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes punched with the Word Window punch and layered on the Modern-Label punch. All the edges& sentiment are inked with Riding Hood Red, embossed the pink heart & owl's tummy. Oh, and my new MS border punch. :)

Class Valentines

These cards are 3"x4" so we were able to get 6 cards out of a 12x12 sheet of paper. We kept the design fairly simple so my DD could and would help me with them. SU scallop border punch & MS heart punch, misc dollar bin wooden sentiment. Oh.. we used up LOTS of scrap paper for this, too.. YAY! We made 30 of these in just a few hours.

Rose and Heart Frame

The white base of this card is embossed with the Crafts-Too embossing folder called Rose and Heart Frame. It is framed in Cherry Cobbler on an Old Olive a2 card base. I also used red and pink stickles, cherry cobbler seam binding, and a retired SU chrocheted flower. The sentiment is SU Oval All. I used a white gel pen for the dots on the scallop oval punch, and the leaves are from the SU bird punch.

Bird Sympathy

I made another sympathy card today. This one uses the SU colors Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, and Very Vanilla. The Very Vanilla is embossed with Cuttlebug birds and swirls folder. The sentiment is rtired SU, ribbn from Crop Stop, SU bird punch and glitter brad. I used an eye shadow sponge to ink the embossed birds in Baja Breeze ink, then covered them with Viva Decor pearl colored pearl pen. I also outlined the baja breeze layer of my Spellbinders Label 11 with the pearl pen as well. SU pearls. The bird is embossed with D'Vine swirls folder, double popdotted up.

Sympathy Card - Spellbinders Lotus Pendant

I made this card for a very special person who was like a sister to me during my childhood. Unfortunately, I have a few more sypmathy cards to make yet. This card stock is craft and I believe Baroque Burgundy. The stamps are from Verve. I also used some glitter glue and glimmer brads, inked the edges in crumb cake. The DSP is retired SU paper. Spellbinders Lotus Pendants is the die cut.

Punch Art Robot Valentines Day Card for Kids

I saw the robot card in the latest issue of Creating Keepsakes and thought it would be perfect for my DS's school valentines. There were minimal instructions with it, trying to encourage us all to be creative I think. So, I will list the items I used for mine. I changed it up a bit. First of all the card base is 4 1/4 by 4 1/4, the mat is 4x4. The head is made up of a 7/8" square punch, the smallest heart from the SU heart trio punch for the ears, and a 3/4" circle trimmed down for the mouth. I used a giant pop dot that I have left still from the 90's and just knew there would be a use for them some day! LOL! The neck, arms, and legs are all done with gray paper that was run through the crimper the strips are about 1/4" wide (hand cut, it's easier!). The legs are about 1 1/2" long, the arms 1", and the neck just a tiny bit of whatever was left over. The candy bar was wrapped in black card stock 1 1/2" x 3", the heart is the middle size from the heart trio punch, glitter glued up. The hands are one of the flowers from the SU flower trio punch, cut in half, then snipped off one petal on each side of the hand so it would have 5 fingers instead of 7. The feet are a 7/8" circle punch cut in half. I added some TH black enamel to the hands and feet to gve it some pop and dimension. The sentiment stamp is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. This was my 3rd attempt. The other 2 were ok, but this is the one I am going to replicate. The red card stock is some misc thin stuff again from my very old collection that I am happy to use up (& the first graders won't care I'm sure!). The orange DSP is from an older DCWV stack. The great thing with the crimped extremeties is they are a bit poseable. My DS really likes it!

Disney/Star Wars Layouts

I got 8 LO's done this weekend. Some of them I like more than others (like the one with the Hollywood Studios title the best I think). On that LO I used my Slice (Funky cart I think). I did that one at a crop and didn't feel like hauling my Cricut. However it did remind me again how much I enjoy my Cricut!! I used one of the newer EK deep border punches for the black dot border. The LO with the orange, blue, green & stripe paper is a sketch from one of the CTMH books. The tag was a BDay gift from an online friend. I added crystal effects on the "Fun" to give it some dimemsion. The flower in the top left is hand created. I still need to get around to a video to show you how to do that. I also used my MS fringe scissor on the blue strips and the tag(hard to see).. love that tool!! The "Use the Force" LO is a Star Wars paper cut down the middle and put on Bazzill Bling black paper. I made the border with SU chunky glitter. I also cut the storm troopers out from a 12x1 die cut sheet & covered them with Glossy Accents. The chunky glitter made the page! The autographs page is my least favorite - ugh- I think there is not enough accents or too much white space or something. I might have to think of what to add to the bottom middle there. Let me know if you have any ideas. I find these pages a bit difficult guess I prefer flowers and frilly or outdoors.

Retirement card

I made this card for a dear friend who I worked with for over 15 years who retired last month. I used my copics again and seem to learn a little from every try. I used SU card stock Night of Navy & Whisper White. I embossed the white with the lattice embossing folder (becoming one of my favorite go to folders). Then I punched the side. The stamped image is from MFT - I think it is "A Guy Thing"? whew.. I really shouldn't wait this long to post cards, but is was the middle of Dec when I made this so no time then! I also used Crystal Effects/Glossy Accents on the TV screen to give it some dimension.

Birthday party Thank You's

Hi, everyone! It is been awhile since I have done much posting. December was busy! I do have a few projects to show you that I haven't had time to post yet, but it was a slow month overall. For starters, here are the Thank You's I made for my DD to give to her friends from her Birthday party (it was in November but I am told it is never too late for a Thank You.. so.. here it is). I used vanilla card stock embossed with the CB Thank You folder. I am not sure what color the pink card stock is but I think it is a retired SU color, old olive is the green. The stamp is SU All a Flutter from last year's mini. I colored the butterflies with SU markers then used the closes Stickles colors to go over it.. DD loved the butterflies! Any tips for better close-up pics? I'm using MF but I still cant get good close-ups! Of course there are a few variations of the same card, too.
