Hi, everyone! Well, I am in the process of redoing my scraproom (again!) LOL! I was able to get my work desk out of my room, so now it can be dedicated fully to my crafts! I am so excited. It is going kind of slow as I am recovering from surgery, but I am super excited. I might do a short preview before it is done.
Thank you to all Veterans and their families. We want to especially thank Toby for his service to our country. We are all proud of him. The blue card my 9 year old daughter made again and the other one is mine.
This was this week's DT challenge (mini album). I am still trying to figure out why the pictures are not the right size. The are the same size as my other ones. I will keep trying to get them to the right size to show the whole picture.
*edited to add* I deleted some of the pictures in order to resize them. However, it is still not working. Sorry! I hope to try again to fix them on Wed.
This is the cupcake card for the last DT challenge. I decided to try my first stairstep card. I really like how it turned out. I added some glimmer to my pink paper but it doesn't show up that well in the pictures.
Cassie and Derek came down with symptoms on Saturday - headache, fevers about 101. Sunday same temps except Derek also got cough & congestion. Monday same temps except now Cassie added cough and congestion as well. Cassie had a horrible night sleep last night, she kept waking up because of the congestion. Her temp went up to 102.1 this morning & her heartrate was way up. I took her to the E.R. They did a chest XRay & she does have fluid on her lungs but not enough to warrant antibiotics at this time. Derek seems a little better today - less cough, temp down to 99.4. Derek had 8 of 18 Kindergarteners out in his class yesterday, Cassie's 4th grade classes were averaging about 6 out. The ER Dr told me they expect this to peak sometime in November!! YUCK!!!
We made these cards for a special little girl who is really sick. We hope they brighten her day just a little. The pumpkin card my 9 year old daughter made. I think it turned out really cute! She used an extra pumpkin cut I had from a previous layout and she chose the card color & the border punches on her own - then she used orange glitter glue on the pumpkins.. but they turned out green - still cute! The next picture with the bear is my 6 year old son's card & he drew a flower above the bear for her - how sweet! The top card is the one I made. When my daughter saw it she wanted to know how I ever tied a bow like that!! LOL!
I am sharing a few projects I have been working on. The altered notebook sets are for one of my friend's girls. I plan on making a matching Matchbox with some little goodies inside, too. The Halloween set is hot cocoa packet pull outs. The Spongebob card I made for my son's friend.
I wanted to try some monogram cards. This is what I came up with. I also wanted to see how different colors and placement/size of accents affected the overall look. The top one is my first and favorite.
This is just a quick and simple card, but I thought it turned out cute. The cat and moon are a Sizzix die. The cat is embossed with distressed stripes embossing folder, the moon is D'vine Swirl, the orange patterned paper is embossed with Skeleton Scroll. the cat image is SU Batty for You, M's or W.M. ribbon
